CEO and founder of sno limited Richard Sinclair is also known online and in particular on twitter as the snoman

Richard blogs regularly for the sno ski blog and tweets to five thousand followers on twitter - while his was the original idea for sno limited, he's always quick to point out that sno has been created and is being grown by many talented and dynamic people, all of whom contribute to making sno limited the success it has become. Richard is picture here with sno's chief technical architect Qin Shao at the Digital Entrepreneur Awards, after accepting the Travel Entrepreneur of the Year "dead cert" award.

biography in brief

When recalling the transition to a life with focus and ambition, Richard is clear that "... the BBC was the making of me".

During a decade and more of investigative and factual programme making, Richard exposed wrong doing whilst secretly filming under-cover for Watchdog, drove a Formula 1 racing car, filmed to the sound of gunfire in Bosnia, was one of the few people to have driven a skidoo to the Magnetic North Pole, and ultimately became an executive producer.

It was during experiences such as the month-long filming of an expeditionary race across the frozen Arctic Ocean, that Richard became fascinated by the remarkable capabilities of ordinary people, and was inspired to take on big challenges himself, including the Ironman triathlon, in which he raced for two years - the idea that he could train for 6 months and then swim 2.4 miles, cycle 112 miles, then run a marathon all in a single race "... was such a mad idea, I couldn't refuse the challenge."

Richard believes he benefitted enormously from the "incredible people" that he had the opportunity to meet, during the course of a decade of film making with the BBC - he attributes the success of the various sno branded companies to ensuring that "...sno employs incredible people and then enables them to shine."
